Storage Conditions for Active Ingredients: What Vitamin C, Retinol, and Peptides Need

Updated October 2026

Not every beauty product needs climate control. Vitamin C, retinol and peptides are different. Warmth breaks each one down in its own way, and the trip to the warehouse matters as much as the shelf.

Some skincare actives stop doing what the label says if they're stored too warm or through big temperature swings. Vitamin C oxidizes, retinol breaks down and peptides lose activity. Each formula's stability data sets the range it can take, and not every active needs the same care. Our network is dry and ambient today, with air-conditioned space in some facilities, and we record lot and expiry when stock arrives. If a product needs tighter conditions than that, bring its stability data to us before the stock ships in.
