A cleaning subscription starts with a bottle or dispenser and its first refill, and then sends lighter refills on a schedule. Every one of those boxes has to go out with the right contents, nothing leaking and nothing past its date.
Subscription and refill kitting means building a cleaning brand's recurring box to the same list of contents every time. The first box is a starter kit, a durable bottle or dispenser with its first refill. Light refill boxes follow on a set schedule. For each kit, we:

A subscriber buys a set of products that shows up again and again. Their first box holds the bottle, dispenser or caddy and a first dose. Each box after that brings only the concentrate, pods or refill pouches they use up. What they are paying for is the right box arriving on the expected day, every time.
So the work is mostly assembly and checking. Each kit needs a fixed list of contents and a scan of every piece. The liquids need packing that holds, and the products that age need watching for their dates.
The first box and the refills behind it are packed differently and cost different amounts to ship. Rates for your own kit come with your quote.
The customer's first box holds what they keep, plus a first dose. Usually that's an empty trigger-spray bottle or a dispenser with its first concentrate, and often a caddy, a microfiber cloth or two, and instructions. We scan each piece against the kit's contents as it goes in, so a wrong concentrate or a wrong scent is caught at the bench. The liquids get leak-resistant packing. This is the heaviest box the subscriber will get and the first one they open, so we build and check it as carefully as a gift set.
After the starter kit, the customer buys only the refill: a concentrate pouch, a pod, or a refill pod that fits the bottle or dispenser they already own. A refill is lighter and smaller than a full ready-to-use bottle, and its dimensional (DIM) weight is lower too. That's why brands sell this way. They keep sending product without paying to ship water and a new bottle every cycle.
A carton fitted to each refill can help keep those repeat shipments cheap, and the team that picked and packed the box also handles its freight. A concentrate goes further still, because the customer adds the water at home and it never rides in the parcel.
Subscriptions run monthly, every other month or quarterly. Each cycle's orders come from your store and subscription app through Dropstream and arrive in BestOMS, our order system, as kits to build. We know roughly how many boxes each cycle will bring, so we plan the work before the orders land. We can also have the components staged ahead of each cycle. When you split your stock across our warehouses, each box can ship from the one nearest the subscriber.
