What it is
One box, many finished units, one accountable operator
Kitting is the work of assembling multiple finished units into a single kit, bundle, or subscription box: a starter set, a multi-pack, a curated monthly box, a retail display-ready bundle. Subscription assembly adds the recurring cadence, so the same box ships cycle after cycle without a manual rebuild each time.
We run this step ourselves, not through a subcontractor. The units are received and stored on facilities we operate, with our own people, then assembled and shipped from the same network. The same operator receives, stores, assembles, and ships the box, so custody stays with one company the whole way, from the moment the units land on our dock until the finished order goes to the carrier. If lot or batch tracking matters to your product, tell us how your records work and we'll map it to your program.
How we do it
Assembly on the platform, not a side process
We run kitting on the same platform that handles every other service: BestOMS for order management, with Deposco (warehouse execution) and Dropstream (the integrations that keep your subscription cadence in sync) behind it.
Scan-checked assembly
Every kit and box is assembled on Deposco, with each finished unit scanned during assembly against the bill of materials the brand specified.
Subscription cadence sync
Recurring boxes sync to your store through Dropstream, so each cycle's order pulls the right units on the set cadence.
Presentation work, scoped to your kit
Inserts, custom cartons, and other presentation work can be built into the assembly step for a kit, rather than handled as a separate process. Scope for your program with your account team.
One inventory pool
Kits draw from the same stock position that serves DTC, marketplace, and retail, so committing a unit to a box stays in that same pool, not a separate kitting stock.

Kitting means assembling finished units into a box, not making the product.
Fulfillment.com is a vertically integrated 3PL for finished, sealed product: we receive it, store it, pick, pack, kit, ship, and take it back. Manufacturing, filling, bottling, formulating, and primary packing are not part of that scope; those stay upstream with your producer. When we kit a box, we place finished sealed units into that box; subscription assembly is unit-into-box assembly, not production. If a step needs the product opened, filled, or formulated, that sits with your manufacturer, not with us.

No. Kitting means assembling FINISHED, sealed units into a box. We are a vertically integrated 3PL: we receive, store, pick, pack, ship, kit, and return finished sealed product. We do not manufacture, fill, bottle, formulate, or primary-pack. Subscription assembly is unit-into-box assembly, not production.
