Value-added services
The presentation layer that makes a finished unit feel like your brand.
Custom and branded packaging, inserts, labeling, ticketing, gift wrap, and bundling, applied to your finished sealed units inline at pick and pack with scan-validated contents. The same operator that receives, stores, and ships your product also dresses it for the channel it ships to.
What it is
Finishing work on finished goods, run by one operator
Value-added services are the finishing work that sits on top of standard pick and pack: the branded carton, the insert, the price ticket, the gift wrap, the multipack. It is what turns a generic shipment into something that looks and feels like your brand, and it is what makes a finished unit ready for the exact channel it ships to.
Fulfillment.com runs this step, not a subcontractor. Value-added work happens on facilities we operate, with our own people, on the same operation that received your product at the dock and will ship it to your customer's doorstep. One operator owns every step of that work.
What we add
The value-added catalog
Each of these is applied to a finished sealed unit during pick, pack, or kitting. Take one or take them all; they run inline, not as a separate hand-off.
Custom + branded packaging
The shipping and presentation carton your brand ships in: branded mailers, boxes, and dunnage that turn the unboxing into part of the product experience.
Inserts
Shaker bottles, testers, welcome booklets, sample sachets, and promotional cards dropped into the box, with scan-validation so the right insert lands in the right order.
Labeling + ticketing
Applying a label or ticket to a finished sealed unit: price tickets, retail barcodes, lot or batch stickers, and any other label your channel or category requires, applied exactly as you specify.
Gift wrap + special handling
Gift wrap, gift messaging, and per-order special handling applied at pick and pack, so a gift order leaves the node ready to delight the recipient.
Bundling + multipacks
Assembling finished units into a bundle or multipack with scan-validated contents, so a promotion or a value pack ships as one accurate, repeatable unit.
Per-channel presentation
The same SKU dressed for the channel it ships to: a retail-ready ticketed unit for wholesale, a branded unboxing for DTC, all from one stock position.
How we do it
Applied inline, validated by scan, on one platform.
Value-added work is not a separate stage your order detours through. It is applied inline during pick and pack on Deposco, the same barcode-verified flow that drives standard fulfillment. The box is scan-validated before it ships, so the right insert, the right label, and the right packaging land in the right order.
Everything runs on one platform, BestOMS: it runs your orders and your portal, with Deposco (running the warehouse and scan validation) and Dropstream (connecting your store and marketplaces) behind it. You see the work on the same screen that shows your inventory and orders.
- Applied inline during pick and pack, not a separate hand-off
- Scan-validated contents, the same discipline as standard picking
- Run on Deposco under BestOMS, visible on your portal
- Facilities we operate and our own people, not a subcontractor
Where the line is
Finishing, not manufacturing.
We operate the facilities ourselves, with our own people. Every value-added service is applied to a finished sealed unit. Labeling and ticketing mean applying a label or ticket to a finished sealed unit; they do not mean producing, filling, or primary-packing product. Custom and branded packaging is the shipping and presentation carton and the inserts, not manufacturing or primary packaging. We do not manufacture, fill, bottle, or formulate.

Value-added work connects to the rest of the catalog
It rarely runs alone. Here is where it meets kitting, returns, and the standard outbound flow.
Kitting + subscription assembly
When value-added work is assembling finished units into a kit, bundle, or subscription box with scan-validated contents.
Returns + reverse logistics
The branded post-purchase experience continues through returns, where restock-eligible units re-enter sellable inventory.
DTC pick and pack
Value-added work is applied inline during barcode-verified picking and packing, not as a separate hand-off.

Questions buyers ask about value-added services
What counts as a value-added service?
Any finishing work applied to a finished sealed unit before it ships: custom and branded packaging, inserts (shaker bottles, testers, welcome booklets), labeling, ticketing, gift wrap, and bundling into multipacks. It is the presentation and labeling layer that sits on top of standard pick and pack.
Does Fulfillment.com manufacture, fill, or package the product itself?
No. We operate the warehouse network ourselves, with our own team, and handle finished sealed product only.
How do you make sure the right insert ends up in the right order?
Value-added work is applied inline during pick and pack on Deposco, with scan-validated contents. The box is validated by scan before it ships, the same barcode-verified discipline that drives standard pick and pack, so the right insert, label, and packaging land in the right order.
Can I have different presentation for different channels?
Yes. The same SKU can ship retail-ready and ticketed for a wholesale account and as a branded unboxing for DTC. In many cases both can run from one stock position rather than separate channel-specific inventory; ask your team whether that applies to your setup.
Is value-added work run by Fulfillment.com or a subcontractor?
We do. Value-added work runs on facilities we operate, with our own people, on the same operation as receiving, storage, pick and pack, and returns. One accountable operator runs this step, not a separate vendor.
